An initial landing of Air Force One in Toledo was aborted Wednesday afternoon due to storms that pushed through the area.
En route to a campaign event, the jet, carrying Barack Obama, circled the Toledo airport before landing.
"A line of heavy rainfall associated with a cold front slowly pushed through the Toledo area this afternoon," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Steve Travis said.
Turbulence was cited as the reason for the pilot's decision.
"There were not high surface winds recorded in Toledo, but aloft there were strong winds which could have created turbulence," Travis said.
