After a seasonably cool start to the week, warmer air is headed to Washington, D.C., as Halloween approaches.
Fresh cool air will hold temperatures to the lower 60s on Tuesday despite more sunshine.
While some rain bypasses the nation's capital to the north, a warming trend will commence on Wednesday with highs reaching the lower 70s. The warmth will continue into Thursday as well.

Dry weather is on tap through at least Thursday afternoon. However, a shower or two may arrive by Thursday evening for the trick-or-treaters.

Steadier rain should follow either late Thursday night or early Friday, and it is not out of the question that a period of gusty winds accompany the rain.
Friday will still feature mild temperatures with a high in the lower to mid-70s.
