Drier days are ahead for New York City after a rainy and dreary weekend.
Some rain and drizzle will keep the city damp through early Monday morning as a storm system crawls eastward.
Gusty winds will make being outside during this time even less desirable and will cause problems for those attempting to walk with an umbrella.
The rest of Monday will be dry with clouds breaking for sunshine as the storm system departs and high pressure builds overhead. A gusty breeze will continue through the day.
Temperatures will rebound into the lower 50s on Monday. The first pitch temperature for the New York Mets' season opener at Citi Field is expected to be close to 50 F.

Further warming will occur Tuesday through Wednesday, allowing temperatures to approach or reach the 60-degree mark. Dry conditions and a partly sunny sky will compliment the weather each day.
The next chance for rain will come later in the week.
