End-of-March Blizzard to Narrowly Miss Minneapolis

Minneapolis will narrowly miss the worst of a blizzard set to close out March across the northern Plains.
The blizzard will unfold across South Dakota, southern North Dakota and western Minnesota on Monday.
The storm will then track northeastward to central Ontario Monday night through Tuesday, weakening some and causing the blizzard conditions to wane.
Northern Minnesota, however, will still be subject to windswept snow that will accumulate a foot or more.

The track of the storm will allow Minneapolis to escape the worst of the blizzard and the heaviest snow, but the city may still face slick travel Monday night as some snow rotates through.
In addition to the snow, temperatures will drop below freezing and cause wet or slushy areas on untreated roads and sidewalks to turn icy.

It may be hard to believe that snow and subfreezing temperatures are on the way with the warmth set to close out the weekend.
Temperatures on Sunday will soar into the upper 50s before cooling some for Monday.
