A developing storm system will spread rainfall across eastern China on Friday before moving northeastward with rainfall expected across South Korea and much of Japan over the weekend.
Rainfall will reach Shanghai Friday afternoon before continuing Friday night. Rainfall will total 6-25 mm (0.25-1.00 inch).
The heaviest rains will spread across South Korea Saturday and Saturday night where 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) will be common in most areas.

Rain will overspread southwest Japan, including Kyushu, Shikoku and southwest Honshu, Saturday with the heaviest rain expected Saturday night in these areas.
The remainder of Honshu, including the greater Tokyo area, will get a period of soaking rainfall from Saturday night into Sunday.
Rainfall will average less than 25 mm (1 inch) across much of southern Japan and eastern Honshu, while the heaviest rain impacts western and northern Honshu where up to 50 mm (2 inches) will be possible.

Snow will fall across the higher elevations of northern Honshu where more than 30 cm (12 inches) will be possible.
Strong winds will also be a threat as the storm strengthens Saturday night Sunday.
Wind gusts over 30 mph are expected across southern South Korea Saturday night.
Winds will pose a greater threat across Japan where widespread wind gusts of 40-50 mph are expected which could result in downed trees and power outages Sunday and Sunday night.
