Unlike some regions of the United States, sunny skies and warm weather are in store for Detroit this holiday weekend.
It will be prime baseball weather as the Detroit Tigers take on the Texas Rangers on Sunday in the finale of a four-game series.
Temperatures will increase each day through Monday with temperatures rising above the 80 F mark for Memorial Day on Monday.

Sunday and Monday will feature plenty of sunshine during the daytime with clear skies in store for Sunday night.
Those headed outdoors for holiday parades and activities or Sunday's Tigers' game, should bring plenty of water and sunscreen to avoid dehydration and sunburn.

A brief shower or thunderstorm may develop in the area on Monday into Monday night, putting a hold on any outdoor holiday activities until it passes.
For those planning to spend a part of the holiday swimming, remember that cold water shock is a threat for anyone jumping into the lakes and unheated pools.
Partly sunny skies will persist through Tuesday but come midweek afternoon showers will dampen the city.
