The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention declares the Friday before Memorial Day as "Don't Fry Day" in an effort to encourage sun safety awareness.
When enjoying outdoor activities, taking preventive measures against the sun's ultraviolet rays is vital throughout the year, but especially in the early summer when UV rays tend to be stronger.
