New England Snow May Push Boston's Seasonal Total Over 100 Inches

A storm that produced a swath of snow and ice early in the week over the South will turn northward enough to graze eastern New England with accumulating snow late Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Since the storm is moving quickly and will remain weak until it passes east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, only up to a few inches of snow will fall.
Areas that may receive 1-3 inches of snow include Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts, southeastern New Hampshire and coastal Maine.

A small accumulation of snow can occur on eastern Long Island with flurries brushing New York City and Hartford, Connecticut.

Enough snow can fall to cause slippery roads, airline delays and minor disruptions to daily activities.
The period of snow could push Boston's total seasonal snowfall past 100 inches and closer to the snowiest season on record. That distinction was set during the winter of 1995-96, with 107.6 inches of snow.
The storm will strengthen enough to bring a moderate snowfall to northeastern Maine, much of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and part of eastern Quebec during Wednesday and into Wednesday night.
