Philadelphia: Third Heat Wave of Summer to Finish Up July

Another summer swelter is in store for Philadelphia with the third heat wave of the summer for many locations.
Several days in a row, temperatures reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit or higher are in the offing through Thursday and perhaps on Friday as well.
East Heat on High Much of this Week
Three days in a row with temperatures reaching 90 F or higher define an official heat wave.
Many locations around Philadelphia experienced the first official heat wave of the summer during June 21-23. Another heat wave was recorded during July 19-21.

Actual temperatures can get as high as the upper 90s F on Wednesday with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures climbing well above 100 F.

Temperatures in some urban areas may struggle to dip below 80 F during the overnight hours.
The vast majority of the time through Sunday will be free of rain.
The next chance of rain will be on Thursday afternoon and evening. Phillies' fans heading to Citizens Bank Park to catch the start of the series with the Braves should be on the lookout for a sudden downpour.

Less humid air will settle in on Friday, with slight nighttime cooling arriving in time for the weekend. The days will still be hot and fitting for early August.
Temperatures have averaged near normal during July and slightly above normal during June. July rainfall has been about 60 percent of average. During June, rainfall has been 260 percent of average.
Temperatures typically range from a morning low near 70 to a high in the upper 80s during the end of July and at the start of August in the city.
