A series of fast-moving low pressure systems will bring several days of wet weather to Ireland and the United Kingdom this week.
Following wet weather on Wednesday, light rainfall will continue across much of England, Wales and Scotland through midday Thursday before tapering off in the afternoon.

Dry weather will again be short-lived as another area of low pressure causes rain across the entire region on Friday and Friday night.
The weather will improve on Saturday, though a few showers are still possible in northern England and Scotland.
Farther east, dry weather is expected for the rest of the week across Germany with afternoon high temperatures a couple of degrees above normal and seasonably cool nighttime low temperatures.
More Rain for the United Kingdom
The area of high pressure building over north-central Europe the next few days will then shift west bringing drier, milder weather to the British Isles early next week.
Meanwhile, the unsettled weather across Spain and France during the first half of the week will be replaced by drier and milder weather from Thursday through Saturday.
Following heavy rain that brought more than 125 mm (5 inches) of rain to parts of southern France Wednesday into Wednesday night, the threat for downpours will shift to Italy on Thursday.

High pressure centered over north-central Europe will begin to shift westward on Thursday and Friday blocking an Atlantic storm system from reaching Spain and France resulting in dry weather for much of both countries. The exception will be northwestern Spain and northeastern France where a frontal boundary will cause some rainfall both Thursday and Friday.
Elsewhere across Spain and France, dry weather will prevail with some sunshine on Thursday and Friday.
Dry weather is forecast across all of France this weekend, with more sunshine and above-normal temperatures.
A storm from the Atlantic will approach Spain this weekend. A south and east flow off the Mediterranean Sea will cause a few showers and isolated thunderstorms in the south and east of Spain, while the interior and north remains largely dry through the weekend.
