NYC: Cold Air to Stay on Hold Into Next Week

Despite a cooldown this weekend, no prolonged cold weather will affect the New York City area into the first part of December.
In terms of rainfall, very little wet weather is likely through Tuesday. Only very spotty rain is likely over the weekend.

Temperatures Tumble This Weekend in Northeast

While the mild weather pattern and lack of snow may put a frown on skiers' faces and may not set the mood for holiday shopping, it will be good news for travel in the region.

Not enough rain is likely to fall to cause significant airline and highway delays through Monday in the local area. Much more substantial rain and ice could cause travel problems in the South Central states with potential impacts on flights coming from or heading to that part of the nation.
Following the warm start to the weekend, a cooldown will have temperatures peaking near 50 F on Sunday and in the 40s on Monday in New York City.

On average, temperatures range from a low in the upper 30s to a high in the upper 40s at the end November.
Despite the chill from earlier in the week and the anticipated late-month cooler air, the potential remains for this month to be the warmest November on record in New York City.

As of Nov. 26, 2015, temperatures have averaged 53.5 F or 5.3 degrees above normal. The warmest November on record at Central Park was in 2001, when temperatures averaged 52.1 F.
The first couple of days of December, Tuesday and Wednesday will bring above-average temperatures once again with highs in the middle 50s.
