This month has been one of the wettest Decembers on record in Seattle, but the extremely wet month will conclude with dry conditions.
A flip in the weather pattern will bring dry and cold weather to Seattle through the end of 2015 and into the first week of 2016, the complete opposite of what the city experienced in December.
Each day through New Year's Day is forecast to be dry and chilly with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s F, about 5 degrees F below normal.

People heading out on New Year's Eve may want to dress warmly as temperatures drop down into the 20s.
This will be very similar to New Year's Eve in Seattle last year when it was dry and cold with temperatures dropping down to 27 F.

The wet weather pattern in Seattle set up at the tail end of November and lasted through almost all of December with rain falling in the city for 29 consecutive days.
The unrelenting rain has made this month the fourth wettest December on record with the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport measuring 11.21 inches of rain.
This will fall short of the current record for the wettest December on record, a whopping 15.33 inches that fell in December of 1933.
