The first snow of the season fell across parts of the northeastern United States this weekend, bringing a true taste of winter for people from Maine through West Virginia.
This weekend storm brought some early season snow to ski resorts across New England, although it was far than enough for the resorts to open.
"The valleys of Vermont and New Hampshire only saw a slushy inch or two of snow, but mountainous locations received much more snow," AccuWeather Meteorologist David Samuhel Said.
Some of the highest snow accumulations were measured in the Green Mountains of Vermont with Bolton, Vermont measuring 9 inches of snow.

Some snow was also seen farther south along the spine of the Appalachian Mountains, falling over the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. However, snow in these areas was mainly seen over the highest mountain peaks in the region.
